New Beginnings

For those who know me personally, you know that I have worked with children since I was 12 years old. I have done babysitting, substitute teaching, and I’ve worked at daycares. I received my Associate’s degree in Early Childhood last year from Kaplan University. I currently work for the YMCA as Site Director of an after-school program. Even though I love children, I feel that it’s time for a change. I have recently been looking into going back to school for a different field. I got back in touch with Kaplan and discussed my plans for a business degree. After a few phone calls and a trip to the campus, I am now enrolled for my Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a focus in Project Management. My classes start next Wednesday and I’m so excited!

I also have been looking for a job as a receptionist/secretary. I have an interview next Tuesday at a law firm. Wish me luck! In the meantime, I’m still applying to other businesses. I am so ready for a CHANGE!

Welcome to my Blog!

Hi, and welcome to my blog! I'm Adrienne Renae Lich and I'm 28 years old. I live in Indiana with my husband (Travis) and 2 of our 3 sons (Robbie & Zach). Our other son, Trenton, lives in TN with his Grandmother. I also have a daughter (Shai) who has the wonderful privilege of living with God in his Heavenly Kingdom.

I started this blog because I love to write, and wanted a way to keep everyone up-to-date on what's going on with me. I work part-time, am PTO Treasurer at the boys' school, and will be starting school November 9th. I volunteer at the Humane Society regularly, and the Soup Kitchen once in a while.

I am an only child. It was fun growing up, having all my toys to myself. Now that I'm older, I see a lot of my friends hanging out with their siblings, going shopping, out to eat, etc. I feel like I'm missing out, but I know that God had a reason for making me the only child. I hope to someday find out what that reason is.

My Dad left when I was little. My Mom became a truck driver to make ends meet. I grew up with my Grandparents while my Mom worked to support me. I was angry for a long time, thinking that my mom just didn't want to be around me, partly because of some things my family said to me. Now that I'm older, thanks to God's help, I have realized that she did it because she loved me. I have slowly forgiven her for being gone all the time, but I know that I still have work to do.

Growing up with my Grandparents, I became especially attached to my Grandpa. He was my best friend and we did a lot of stuff together. Checkers became one of my favorite games because he and I played it all the time. He would drop EVERYTHING to play Checkers with me. All I had to do was ask. Every Christmas, he'd drive me around town to look at Christmas lights. We also used to watch Bob Ross together. He's a painter for those who don't know. He had a show on television, but sadly passed away a while back. My Grandpa passed away, also, last year on July 23rd from Alzheimer's.

I met my husband in 2005, but we didn't get together till May 15th, 2009. We got married December 5th, 2009. We have our issues just like every other married couple, but we are working through them, day by day. He makes me smile and laugh just by being near me.

I am just a regular person, taking life day by day. I love the Lord, love being a Christian, and am always looking for new friends to enjoy life with. Will you be one of them?

Jesus loves you, and so do I.

Adrienne
